What to look for in an IT job preparation book
There is no single best book for every exam. Check a book against the exam you are actually sitting:
Recent questions — the latest edition should include papers from the last one or two recruitment cycles, since exam takers (BIBM, BUET, BPSC) change their style.
Written answers, not only MCQs — bank IT and Petrobangla merit lists are decided by written questions (SQL, code output, diagrams), so look for full worked answers.
Exam coverage — check which exams the book says it targets (for example BPSC, BCS, NTRCA, bank IT, AE/SAE) and whether it covers the general parts (math, English, Bangla) you also need.
Topic-wise organisation — subject chapters (DBMS, networking, OS, DSA) make it easy to pair reading with topic-wise practice.
How to combine a guide book with free practice
A book gives you the content; marks come from practising it under exam conditions. A simple loop that works with any book:
Step 1 — Read one topic in your book (for example normalization or subnetting).
Step 2 — Practise that topic's MCQs on IT Job BD, then write two or three written answers from Top 600 or Last Moment on paper.
Step 3 — Every week, sit a timed model test in your exam's pattern (bank IT, Petrobangla or the Bit to Exabyte written pattern).
Step 4 — Revise every wrong answer: go back to the book chapter, then re-practise with Smart Revision and previous year questions.
